What is the Sons of the Dragon Club and what is its purpose?

The Sons of the Dragon Club is the Beta Foundation's annual giving club specifically for Beta undergraduates designed to create awareness of the mission, goals, and activity of the Beta Theta Pi Foundation. Lifelong annual giving to the Beta Leadership Fund (BLF) is the lifeline of the Fraternity's educational activity, and joining the Sons of the Dragon Club is an excellent opportunity for undergraduates to do their part in building a bridge for future generations.

How can undergraduates join the Sons of the Dragon Club?

Any undergraduate who gives $18.39 or more to the Beta Leadership Fund is a member of the Sons of the Dragon Club for that fiscal year (June 1 – May 31). Contributions can be made online by clicking here or checks can be mailed to: The Beta Foundation - 5134 Bonham Rd – Oxford, OH 45056. The Sons of the Dragon Club is an annual giving club and undergraduates are encouraged to join each year while in college.

Undergraduates who join the Club by April 1 will receive the 2012 Sons of the Dragon Club necktie (shipped in mid-April).  Additionally, every chapter that either reaches 100% participation in the Club (or 62+ members, which is Beta’s average chapter size), will win a Skype Interview with a Beta Great, such as:

United States Senator Richard G. Lugar, Denison ’54
ESPN Sportscaster Neil Everett, Oregon ’84
Leadership expert Don (Dipper) DiPaolo, Michigan ’78
Expert strategist E.B. Wilson, St. Lawrence ’53
Texas Athletic Director Deloss Dodds, Kansas State ’59
TV Producer Robb Weller, Washington ’84

Along with publishing the names of all donors in the Annual Report, the Beta Foundation will also recognize chapters (based on the number and percentage of members in the Sons of the Dragon Club) at the General Convention annually.
