What is the Sons of the Dragon Club and what is its purpose? The Sons of the Dragon Club is the Beta Foundation’s new annual giving club specifically for Beta undergraduates. The purpose of this new giving club is to create awareness of the mission, goals, and activity of the Beta Theta Pi Foundation and to establish a culture of lifelong annual giving to the Beta Leadership Fund (BLF). The BLF is the lifeline of the Fraternity’s educational activity, and joining the Sons of the Dragon Club is an excellent opportunity for undergraduates to do their part in building a bridge for future generations. How do I join the Sons of the Dragon Club?Any undergraduate who gives $18.39 or more to the Beta Leadership Fund is a member of the Sons of the Dragon Club for that fiscal year (June 1 – May 31). Contributions can be made online at www.betathetapi.org/gift or checks can be mailed to: The Beta Foundation - 5134 Bonham Rd – Oxford, OH 45056. The Sons of the Dragon Club is an annual giving club and undergraduates are encouraged to join each year while in college. Are there membership benefits or recognition for joining? This year, every undergraduate who joins the Sons of the Dragon Club before April 1st will receive the 2010 Sons of the Dragon Club T-shirt. The T-shirt is a high-quality, American Apparel shirt with a vintage design. Undergraduates who join by April 1st will have their t-shirts shipped to their chapter houses in mid-April. T-shirts will be given immediately to anyone who joins the Sons of the Dragon Club on site at the Keystone Regional Leadership Conferences. Along with publishing the names of all donors in the Annual Report, the Beta Foundation will also recognize chapters (based on the number and percentage of members in the Sons of the Dragon Club) at the General Convention annually. How does my $18.39 make a difference?Your $18.39 contribution to the Beta Leadership Fund helps provide the financial resources that staff and operate the educational Foundation, important alumni outreach activities, the Men of Principle initiative and Beta’s award winning leadership programs. On average, the Beta Foundation must raise roughly $750,000 for the Beta Leadership Fund annually. Although $18.39 may not seem like a large contribution, the 6,500 undergraduates of today are the Beta Greats of tomorrow. Joining the Sons of the Dragon Club is a way for undergraduates to begin their commitment of giving back to Beta Theta Pi with an annual contribution to the Beta Leadership Fund. Now that I’ve joined the Sons of the Dragon Club, how can I help?As a member of the Sons of the Dragon Club, there are many ways you can help. Here are a few suggestions to consider:
