Beta is to be a brotherhood, an association of friends. This brotherhood shares certain secret signs and symbols, but her objects should be known by all. The strength of a Beta chapter directly relates to each member's understanding and practice of the Fraternity's principles and obligations.

Too often Beta ritual is misunderstood as merely ceremonies conducted once a semester, then locked away after the books are collected. Instead, ritual is the very life of a chapter embodied in the actions of each member.

Chapters should strive for continual focus on Beta's purpose to build a brotherhood of ever increasing affection, even amid the greater cares of later life.
